Against a backdrop of grazing thoroughbreds, this race-horse breeding farm proved to be a fitting venue to show off the 2009 enhancements to this well-bred champion ATV.</p><p>Since its inception in 2002, the QuadSport Z400 has had an impressive racing heritage as well as being a popular and versatile all-around sport ATV. The design concept for the 2009 QuadSport Z400 was "Engineered for Fun" and with the additional performance improvements and cutting-edge QuadRacer R450-styling, the Z400 certainly lives up to its objective.</p><p>"The 2003 LT-Z400 took ATV performance to a new level," Glenn Hansen, Suzuki's Communication Manager explained during the presentation. "It pushed the performance edge and gave Doug Gust the Championship in the 2004 Pro Production class. The 2009 QuadSport has once again set a new level of performance."</p><p>In addition to adopting the aggressive QuadRacer R-450 look, the new Z400 borrowed other elements from its racy sibling. First and foremost is the addition of Fuel Injection. Electronic fuel injection gives the Z400 a noticeably smoother and quicker throttle response, improved starting and performance in a variety of conditions, and improved fuel efficiency.</p><p>Mel Harris, Vice President of American Suzuki Motor Corporation, spoke highly of the efforts that went into the design: "Suzuki is definitely the leader with fuel injection in its products."</p><p>The 2009 model also boasts an R450-like logic and ignition system. This Engine Control Unit monitors throttle position, engine RPM and the rate of change of both. By deciding the optimum settings for volume and timing, the ECU also gives the ATV improved traction.</p><p>The new QuadSport's engine updates include a change in cam profile and timing, an intake port redesign, change in internal muffler structure and shorter exhaust header pipe. These four elements help deliver a noticeable improvement in low to mid-range power output while maintaining the Z's strong top-end power.</p><p>Externally, the chassis has been redesigned to be more accessible, functional and user-friendly. The front track has been widened by an inch, and the caster, camber and trail have all been changed. All of these modifications give the Z400 a lighter steering feel and more sure-footed handling.</p><p>Changes in both the front and rear suspension offer the rider a firmer response plus a plush feel resulting in a comfortable, enjoyable ride.</p><p>Ergonomically, the new Suzuki QuadSport moves the rider into a different position that allows more freedom of movement for weight shifting and comfort. The handlebars have been lowered and reshaped and the footrests have been lowered and widened to the same width as the R450.</p><p>Additional changes to the 2009 model include other R450 inspired updates that make the Suzuki QuadSport Z-400 the perfect all-around sand, trail and track ATV. No other ATV offers the versatility of the QuadSport Z-400.</p><p>"Engineered for Fun", the QuadSport Z-400 offers a combination of trail-riding fun and high-performance attitude that keep it a breed apart in performance, styling and comfort.</p><p>The QuadSport Z-400 will be available in September in both white and yellow for $6199 MSRP.</p><br /> Photo Gallery: <a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0807_atvp_2009_suzuki_quadsport_ltz400">Suzuki Rolls Out The 2009 QuadSport LT-Z400 - ATV Rider Magazine</a><br /><br /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0807_atvp_01_s+2009_suzuki_quadsport_ltz400+vessels_stallion_farm.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0807_atvp_02_s+2009_suzuki_quadsport_ltz400+new_look_quadsport_z400.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0807_atvp_03_s+2009_suzuki_quadsport_ltz400+2009_quadsport_z400.jpg" height="75" /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0807_atvp_2009_suzuki_quadsport_ltz400">Read More</a> |

Unfortunately, his teammate, Kiser, had worse luck and neared the first turn almost dead last. In the first lap, Kiser was able to charge through the pack and move into 10th at the check point. From that point it became more difficult for Kiser to pass the other riders as the course was dusty and tight through many sections. "I rode to the best of my ability but once the top riders began to spread themselves out it was hard to make up time in the dust. It appeared that where you started was where you would finish," commented Kiser.</p><p>Kiser did eventually move into 8th place and began to catch William Yokley and Chris Borich on the last lap. "By the time I got them in view, we were down to three miles to go with only tight sections left. Unfortunately, I couldn't get close enough to make the pass," reported Kiser. "I was happy with my performance today considering my poor start and the track conditions and I am just hoping for a better start at the next round."</p><p>McGill rode a smooth and consistent race and finished 5th overall. His 5th place finish puts him 3rd overall in the series points just one point shy of second place.</p><p><strong>Next Event:</strong> GNCC Round 9 - Somerset, PA - July 5-6, 2008</p><p><strong>XC-1 Class Overall Results:</strong><br />1. Wimmer (#191) and his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 successfully swept both motos, with teammates Doug Gust (#55) and Chad Wienen (#44) also putting in strong performances.</p><p>Wimmer established his speed early in the weekend when he set the fastest time on his way to winning the Top Qualifier award. When the gate dropped for the first race, however, it was Team Rockstar / MSR / Suzuki / Yoshimura / Pro Taper teammate Doug Gust leading the field into the first turn. Gust's lead wouldn't last long, though, as Wimmer overtook him and set out for the top spot of the podium. Midway through the race, Wimmer passed for the lead and he and his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 set an unrivaled pace to take the checkered flag.</p><p>Wimmer also had an excellent start in moto two rounding the 1st turn in second place. He quickly passed for the lead and rode off to his fifth overall win of the season. Gust finished the day in the fourth spot (3-5) and Wienen finished his first race back from injury an impressive and solid fifth (4-8).</p><p>Wimmer's win extends his lead in the championship standings to 67 points with just three races remaining. Suzuki is still dominating the Manufacturers Cup with a 56 point advantage.</p><p>"My Suzuki worked excellent this weekend," Wimmer said. "It was really hooked up and was going great. Both starts I got top two, so I didn't have to work my way up too much. I passed into the lead about halfway through the first moto, and five laps into the second moto, so everything went really good!"</p><p>Team Manager Kory Ellis was excited by the team's result. "The day went well, Chad Wienen came back from missing a race. He's all healed up so we're really happy with that. Doug Gust rode a really good race - real consistent all day long, consistent lap times. Wimmer... man, he just dominated! He didn't get the holeshot but he came out second both motos. He had to pass for the lead and then he simply checked out on everybody. He just completely dominated the whole field. It's obvious that nothing can touch the Suzuki QuadRacer's performance. Combine a machine of that quality and a rider as fast as Wimmer and it's a tough combination to beat."</p><p><strong>Congratulations also go out to the amateur Suzuki winners:</strong><br /> Cody Grant - Pro Am Unlimited<br /> Michael Logan Brewster - 4-Stroke A</p><p>Next up is the American Suzuki Summer National in Pleasure Valley on July 12-13th.</p><p><strong>PROGRAM PARTNERS</strong><br />Rockstar - MSR - American Suzuki - Yoshimura R&D - Pro Taper</p><p>Makita Industrial Power Tools - XCeldyne - CV4 Products - JB Racing - Pro Aluminum - Galfer - NGK - Fox Shocks - Maxxis - Douglas - Quad Tech - Motion Pro - Hinson Clutch - Precision Racing Products - VP Fuels - One Industries - Mechanix Wear - Motorex USA</p><br /> Photo Gallery: <a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_dustin_wimmer_muddy_creek">Dustin Wimmer Unstoppable At Muddy Creek - ATV Rider Magazine</a><br /><br /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_01_s+dustin_wimmer_muddy_creek+wimmer_on_podium.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_02_s+dustin_wimmer_muddy_creek+doug_gust.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_03_s+dustin_wimmer_muddy_creek+chad_wienen.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_04_s+dustin_wimmer_muddy_creek+dustin_wimmer.jpg" height="75" /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_dustin_wimmer_muddy_creek">Read More</a> |

"It started to rain on the line and the race quickly became one of survival," Crane said. "It was pretty sticky, but the KTM ran great and it hooks up so well in muddy conditions."</p><p>Crane had a decent start and worked his way through traffic and the rain during the first lap. But, by the beginning of the second lap, Crane pulled his 450 XC into the lead just as it stopped raining and never looked back. "I pulled into the lead and checked out from there," Crane said. "The KTM gets traction better than anything I've ever been on."</p><p>By the end of the seven-lap race, Crane had amassed nearly a seven-minute lead and his first career OMA overall victory. "I hope to get in the points lead and stretch it out from there," Crane said. Currently, Crane sits in second place overall and trails the Pro class leader by just four points.</p><p>Now Crane is preparing for Round 8 of the GNCC series before he makes the trip to Michigan June 28 for Round 5 of the OMA series.</p><p><strong>ATV OMA Pro Class Results:</strong><br />1. Better still, the victories secure Ballance, Ockerman and Cecco atop their respective divisions as the GNCC season passes the halfway point. Cecco not only won the morning Women's race, but took the overall win against almost 300 riders in 16 different categories as well. However the victory didn't come easily for the multi-time GNCC champion. She tangled with fellow Yamaha rider Stephanie Parton's machine after Parton stalled near the start, putting the pair at the back of the pack. But Cecco quickly battled forward and had taken over second behind Angel Atwell by the end of the first lap. With no serious traffic problems to contend with, she passed Atwell on lap five and finished the two-hour, six-lap marathon with a comfortable 37-second margin of victory. Jennifer Albright, Kristen Atwell and Parton followed up in third, fourth and fifth to give Yamaha four out of the top five places. The XC1 Pro and XC2 Pro Am classes ran in the afternoon. Ballance grabbed the holeshot and looked set to disappear immediately, but he bent a heel guard and pitted after the first lap to straighten it. Ballance then charged strongly up-field to grab the lead on the third of four longer laps, claiming his third consecutive win and taking over the points lead in the process. "When Bill disappeared, I thought he had pulled away," recalled Sommers after the race. "Then I saw someone behind me and it was Bill on a mission. I pulled over and then followed every line and detail that he followed on the track." Eventually the pair caught and then passed the leaders to score their memorable 1-2 sweep. Not far behind was Ockerman, dominating his sixth XC2 Pro Am race of the year and further extending his points lead.</p><p><table><tr><td colspan="3"><strong>2008 GNCC ATV XC1 Pro Points 5/31/08</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Pos.</strong></td><td><strong>Rider</strong></td><td><strong>Points</strong></td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td><strong>Bill Ballance - Yamaha</strong></td><td>152</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>Adam McGill</td><td>138</td></tr><tr><td>3</td><td><strong>Brandon Sommers - Yamaha</strong></td><td>124</td></tr><tr><td>4</td><td>Bryan Cook</td><td>124</td></tr><tr><td>5</td><td>Chris Borich</td><td>113</td></tr></table></p><p><table><tr><td colspan="3"><strong>2008 GNCC ATV XC2 Pro Am Points 5/31/08</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Pos.</strong></td><td><strong>Rider</strong></td><td><strong>Points</strong></td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td><strong>Donnie Ockerman - Yamaha</strong></td><td>182</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>Brian Wolf</td><td>126</td></tr><tr><td>3</td><td><strong>David Crane - Yamaha</strong></td><td>112</td></tr><tr><td>4</td><td>Mark Notman</td><td>108</td></tr><tr><td>5</td><td>Joshua Kirkland</td><td>106</td></tr></table></p><p><table><tr><td colspan="3"><strong>2008 GNCC ATV Women Points 5/31/08</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Pos.</strong></td><td><strong>Rider</strong></td><td><strong>Points</strong></td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td><strong>Traci Cecco - Yamaha</strong></td><td>130</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>Angel Atwell</td><td>127</td></tr><tr><td>3</td><td>Stefanie Verkade</td><td>110</td></tr><tr><td>4</td><td><strong>Jennifer Albright - Yamaha</strong></td><td>108</td></tr><tr><td>5</td><td><strong>Stephanie Parton - Yamaha</strong></td><td>101</td></tr></table></p><br /> Photo Gallery: <a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_team_yamaha_gncc_series">Team Yamaha Atop GNCC After Perfect Weekend - ATV Rider Magazine</a><br /><br /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_02_s+team_yamaha+bill_ballance.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_01_s+team_yamaha+traci_cecco.jpg" height="75" /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0806_atvp_team_yamaha_gncc_series">Read More</a> |

Kiser almost had the holeshot nailed down until a rider hit him from behind pushing him into another group of riders. Kiser and the riders he collided with were stuck together and lost precious seconds untangling from each other. Meanwhile, McGill was sitting in 4th looking for another good run.</p><p>Now back on the track, Kiser had begun to move through traffic to gain back positions he had lost on the start. He had moved up into the top twenty and was neck and neck with another rider down a fast straightaway heading toward the woods. When they neared the turn to enter back into the woods Kiser and the rider smashed into each other causing both riders to go down. After the crash, Kiser came in for a pit stop to grab a new helmet and goggles. During this time, his teammate, McGill was having a pretty good run up front. McGill had moved into 2nd and even led for a bit in the first few laps but dropped back to 4th after getting a stick wedged in his front end. He pit on the third lap to quickly get the stick removed before going out for lap four.</p><p>On the fourth lap, Kiser was busy plowing through traffic trying to gain as many positions as he could before the checkered flag. McGill was back in 4th and had started to ride a comfortable race until he hit debris that derailed his chain, broke his sprocket bolts and bent the sprocket. The damage done to his KTM was enough to take him out of the race.</p><p>At the finish, Kiser had made up an incredible distance and managed to salvage a respectable 10th place class finish. With seven rounds down McGill sits 2nd in points while Kiser hangs on to 7th.</p><p><strong>ATV XC-1 Class Results:</strong><br>1. Bill Balance<br>2. Brandon Sommers<br>3. William Yokley<br>4. Morris, Pa. Round - ATV Rider Magazine" /><p><strong>Brea, CA - May 27, 2008</strong> - Dustin Wimmer, Team MSR / Suzuki / Yoshimura / Pro Taper frontrunner, had an up and down day at the High Point round of the ITP Tires/Moose Racing AMA/ATVA National Motocross Championship Series this weekend. But at the end of the day he was able to maintain his huge points lead with a 5th overall.</p><p>The day started well for Wimmer (#191) with a holeshot in the first moto - his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 earning him the Suspension Systems Holeshot Award. From the first turn on, Wimmer had a five second lead which he did not give up until he crossed the checkers.</p><p>The second moto started with Wimmer and Josh Creamer tangling up at the start. "I don't know how I pulled that one out... I was up on two wheels and somehow saved it," Wimmer explained.</p><p>"I pushed really hard and got back into 4th place after the first lap," Wimmer continued. "Then I noticed that my front tire was going flat and had to get it replaced. It must have suffered some damage in the collision. No sooner had I gotten back into the race my second front tire went. I've never had anything like that happen before and I'm not sure if this one was from the rocks on the track or the tangle with Creamer."</p><p>When Wimmer returned to the track the second time he rode flat out securing the fastest lap of the day - 2 minutes flat. Even with Wimmer's 15th place finish in moto two, he was still 5th for the day overall.</p><p>Teammate Doug Gust (#55) had a consistent showing with 5-6 moto scores for 6th overall keeping Doug firmly in second place behind Wimmer in the points standings. #44 Chad Wienen finished 6th overall.</p><p>Team Manager Kory Ellis looks forward to the next event: "By Unadilla, we're looking to extend our point lead. The bikes are working really well and the riders are going really good."</p><p>Wimmer is currently enjoying a 41 point lead over teammate Doug Gust; Suzuki still dominates the Manufacturer's Cup.</p><p>Next stop - Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New Berlin, N.Y. on June 7-8th.</p><p><strong>PROGRAM PARTNERS: </strong><br />Rockstar - MSR - American Suzuki - Yoshimura R - Pro Taper</p><p>Makita Industrial Power Tools - XCeldyne - CV4 Products - JB Racing - Pro Aluminum - Galfer - NGK - Fox Shocks - Maxxis - Douglas - Quad Tech - Motion Pro - Hinson Clutch - Precision Racing Products - VP Fuels - One Industries - Mechanix Wear - Motorex USA</p><br /> Photo Gallery: <a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0805_atvp_wimmer_ama_atv_mx_series_mt_morris">Wimmer Holds On To AMA/ATV MX Series Lead After Mt. The rider had a mid-pack start, but quickly caught and passed the race leader in fine fashion. His teammate, <strong>Josh Frederick</strong>, was able to secure third place, putting two Can-Am DS 450TM race ATVs on the podium for the weekend.</p><p>"The entire Team Motoworks effort continues to look impressive," said Del Bohlman, Product, Media Relation and Racing Manager for Can-Am ATVs at BRP. "Each week they prove they are ready to compete and win at any level."</p><p>Team Motoworks / Can-Am amateur racer, <strong>Dillon Zimmerman,</strong> had a mixed weekend of racing. In the 265-450 Expert class, he took third overall for the weekend. However, in the 91-450 Four-Stroke Expert class, after winning the first race easily aboard his DS 450, a second-race crash took away his chances of winning that class.</p><p><strong>Brandon Smith</strong><br />"I'm really happy; this is my first Pro Quadcross win. It feels really good to have a win under my belt! I really didn't expect the win. I crashed last week and am not quite at 100% yet, but I'm looking forward to the next round when I will be completely healed and ready to try for another win."</p><p><strong>Johnny Leach</strong> (team owner)<br />"The Can-Am bikes ran great all weekend and the guys did a fantastic job out there. We had a really good weekend of racing. This is our third race in a row with zero failures so we are pretty happy to have all the bugs worked out." The next ITP Quadcross race is on June 22, at Speedworld track near Surprise, Ariz. The main races will be held under the lights Saturday night. The course itself also had to be shortened due to flooding issues.</p><p>The challenge was set for the team and Wimmer's QuadRacer R450 was up to the task as he pulled a monster holeshot at the drop of the gate. From there, Wimmer's Suzuki looked like it was on rails as he expertly battled rain, mud and wind as well as other racers to the win.</p><p>"It was a mess out there," Wimmer explained after the race. "I knew I had to get the holeshot in order to just see the course. My Suzuki jumped off the line so hard, I just pushed forward and never looked back."</p><p>Teammates Doug Gust (#55) and Chad Wienen (#44) also got their QuadRacers off the blocks fast. Gust ran a great race finishing fourth at the checkers. With some of the other contenders having a rough day, both Wimmer and Gust gained valuable points. So far this season, Suzuki has won four of the five races held in this series.</p><p>Team Manager Kory Ellis was happy with the results. "Wimmer qualified with the fastest time on Saturday so we thought we'd have a good weekend. Then the rains came and threw a "Wild Card" into the mix. But Wimmer rode to another impressive win and pushed his points lead even further forward. Also, Gust is holding on to his second place spot and Suzuki is dominating the points in the race for the coveted Manufacturer's Cup."</p><p>With six races left to go it's still too early to make predictions, but Dustin Wimmer and Suzuki are definitely dominating this series.</p><p><strong>PROGRAM PARTNERS: </strong><br />Rockstar - MSR - American Suzuki - Yoshimura R - Pro Taper</p><p>Makita Industrial Power Tools - XCeldyne - CV4 Products - JB Racing - Pro Aluminum - Galfer - NGK - Fox Shocks - Maxxis - Douglas - Quad Tech - Motion Pro - Hinson Clutch - Precision Racing Products - VP Fuels - One Industries - Mechanix Wear - Motorex USA</p><br /> Photo Gallery: <a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0805_atvp_dustin_wimmer_ama_atv_mx_series">Team Suzuki's Dustin Wimmer Takes Home Third Win In AMA ATV MX Series - ATV Rider Magazine</a><br /><br /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0805_atvp_01_s+dustin_wimmer_ama_atv_mx_series+wimmer_first_lap.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0805_atvp_02_s+dustin_wimmer_ama_atv_mx_series+wimmer_final_lap.jpg" height="75" /><img src="http://images.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0805_atvp_03_s+dustin_wimmer_ama_atv_mx_series+wimmer_on_podium.jpg" height="75" /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://www.atvrideronline.com/newsfront/0805_atvp_dustin_wimmer_ama_atv_mx_series">Read More</a> |
