O'Neal A-10 In sizes 28-40, the $109.99 A-10 offers a great fit for baggy pants. The legs are on the tight side, which cut down on snagging and catching, but the knees have plenty of room for braces. Stretch panels in the crotch solve any bunching problems, and the waist size was spot-on. Rubber knee panels add extra protection, and the frontal thigh pockets rule. The construction is lightweight, and the pant is well-built. The zippers are a little flimsy, but the built-in belt stays hooked and looped and tight even when wet. The full-length spandex stretch panels are nice, and the pant is anything but restrictive. The inner ankle heat panels are big, but they still melted on hot headers. The inside of the belt is slightly rough and can get uncomfortable when worn for long periods. Sizes run 28-38 in black/blue or black/red; 22-50 in black/white.-Chris Denison | GEAR | 81 | | Style | 16/20 | | Comfort | 6/10 | | Function | 42/50 | | Wash/care | 8/10 | | Price | 9/10 | www.oneal.com; 818/998-1049 | | Shift Assault Ride Lightweight and very breathable, the vent panels on the upper leg do a good job of keeping you cool. The style isn't very flashy (choose from black, blue or red), but the simple design holds up well and looks nice. The size 28-42 pant offers a waist size that is true, and side stretch panels let the pant move with you without bunching. The legs aren't overly baggy, but the openings did catch on the bodywork. The $59.99 Assault Ride is definitely worth the inexpensive price tag. -Derek Steahly | GEAR | 83 | | Style | 17/20 | | Comfort | 7/10 | | Function | 42/50 | | Wash/care | 8/10 | | Price | 9/10 | www.shiftmx.com; 888/826-5143 | |
