Snap-on® Pumps Up Convenience, Mobility and Versatility With New Versavolt Cordless Air Compressor

Portable, Lightweight Air Source Packs Maximum Pounds Per Square Inch

Last Updated 9/20/2004
Snap-on Tools Company understands that cordless tools and equipment provide users the freedom to move around and complete jobs away from electrical outlets and work outside of an automotive shop or garage. That's why Snap-on® introduced the Versavolt Cordless Air Compressor (CTPS3918), a convenient, transportable, safe and cord-free air compressor that allows users to take compressed air just about anywhere.

The Snap-on Versavolt Cordless Air Compressor helps improve mobility and productivity for operators. The battery-powered air compressor eliminates the need for multiple lines of air or external tanks when inflating vehicle tires and other inflatable objects including sports equipment, marine and pool equipment, air mattresses, toys and more. A 3.5-foot inflation hose is included with the unit and provides enough reach for operators to freely maneuver around their inflation target.

At 1.8 pounds and 8 inches long by 7 inches wide by 12 inches high, the Snap-on Versavolt Cordless Air Compressor can be easily carried by hand, transported in or stowed in a garage, utility closet or vehicle stowage area. The compressor is capable of inflating most SUV tires in less than six minutes, depending on the power source. When operating cordless, the air compressor is powered by Snap-on Versavolt battery packs (purchased separately). A fully charged 18V battery pack can inflate four SUV tires to 32 pounds per square inch (psi) in less than 18 minutes, or 4.5 minutes for each tire. A 12V DC car adapter also accompanies each unit and serves as an alternative power source during inflations when batteries run low. Batteries and charger are not included but can be purchased separately.

Snap-on Versavolt Cordless Air Compressor produces 0.70 cubic feet of pressure per minute (CFM) at 32 psi and is capable of producing a maximum of 90 psi. The Versavolt Cordless Air Compressor is the only cordless air compressor that is approved by the Underwriter's Laboratory.

Other standard features include a large, easy-to-read gauge that provides accurate inflation information; a heavy-duty glass filled nylon housing and roll cage that offers durability for repeated and extended use; rubber feet to increase stability and cushioning on rough on- and off-road surfaces; and a built-in light that illuminates night-time and dimly-lit workspaces. By using a red emergency cap, the spotlight can also be used as a flashing hazard signal in the event of a roadside emergency. An accessory bag with the red emergency cap, an extra fuse and various hose adapters for a range of applications accompanies each unit.
