Sedona Mud Rebel Tire
When traversing muddy trails I often refer to my tires as either one-way able, meaning if you make it through one time you'll probably not try it again, or two-way able, meaning you have the right equipment to go wherever you want! Because mud hole depths are generally camouflaged by murky waters, you never quite know its difficulty level until you've committed and with the overly saturated trails we have in Georgia, choosing the right set of meats is a vital decision. With that said I have been looking for a new mildly aggressive tire for my Polaris 850XP. This tire needs to possess the durability to handle the claimed 70 rear-wheel horsepower of my 850XP while also offering good traction for pulling me out of sticky scenarios. Blasting the debris free from the tread isn't an issue but having enough lug depth to dig deep under the top layer of slime down to the hard pack below is more of my concern. I decided to pick up a set of Mud Rebel tires produced by Sedona Tire. Being fairly new on the market it was worth a try to see how this Rebel could tame the trail. It has a mild V-shaped tread pattern that looks like it is trail and rider friendly. The tread gently rolls over the sidewall to give the extra bite in deep ruts. I also found that the 6-ply Mud Rebel performed well on both hard pack terrains as well as mild muddy pipeline trails that were littered with ruts. When turning up the throttle on the 850XP, these tires would clean out excess mud and grab hard with excellent forward bite. Every tire has its limits and the deeper mud is better left to a more aggressive tire. However, the Mud Rebel performed well on everything from hard pack to mild muddy trails while offering a comfortable ride. -Thad Josey
Sedona Race Line Wheel 'Renegade' Mountain land can be tough on any ATV's suspension and tires, but it's our wheels that often take the worst pounding from abuse. I have been known to clip the edge of a tree and more frequently the sharp edges of large destructive rocks, which will wreak havoc on weaker wheels. While in the process of ordering my new Mud Rebel tires, I noticed that Sedona offered a wheel and tire combo. Having the chance to roll out new shoes for my 850XP, I decided to go ahead and give the Race Line series "Renegade" wheel a run as well. Manufactured from a high-grade aluminum these glimmering new rims gave my 850XP a trick new look. Lightweight was what I needed to keep the ponies kicking and they did not seem much heavier than the stockers. Hitting the deep ravines and rocky power line property that litters the North Georgia landscape, I found many obstacles that could easily ruin a weaker rim, but I stayed in the gas regardless.
Tucked nicely into the protruding rubber of the Mud Rebel tire, there was plenty of safety from the dangers my rims were up against. I figured that if the various obstacles did not take their toll on my shiny new rims, surely the muck and mire from the swampy creek bottom would have destroyed the beautiful finish on these new wheels. Fortunately, they held up like champs with only minor scuffing. Since this tire and wheel combo arrived already mounted, I was able to spend less time on installation and more time exploring the trails. We tested with the 26x9-12 fronts and 26x12-12 rear sizes and they retail for only $165.95 to 199.95 each depending on sizes needed. -Thad Josey
