Acerbis Uniko ATV Hand Guards

It's fairly common knowledge that a set of hand guards can do a lot of things to enhance your riding experience. They do things such as protect your hands from another rider's roost, rocks, tree limbs and other debris that you run into during a day out riding. They can also protect your grips and hands from mud, water and even break the wind a little in harsh climates. But hand guards many times have a cheap appearance and can be flimsy or difficult to mount up. This is not the case with Acerbis' Uniko ATV hand guards as they are designed specifically for use on ATVs rather than motorcycles.

Since I'm an avid user of Fasst Co. Flexx bars, I've found it difficult to find good hand guards that fit due to the lack of space left on the bar for mounting the guards. Acerbis came up with a solution by creating a kit that has only one mounting point, and that mounting point is at the very end of the handlebar. The guards mount using an expanding knurled bar-end insert and are extremely sturdy once tightened down. And because of having only one mounting point, they do not end up taking up any extra space on your bar or interfering with your cable routing or lever placement. Mounting hardware is available for all types and sizes of handlebar.

We must admit that only having one mounting point left us wondering if these guards were actually going to remain sturdy and in place while riding hard. No worries, though, they were actually rock solid, which was a bit surprising. The look, shape and quality of these guards were phenomenal as well. Out on the trail, they offered great protection as they should from rocks, dirt, wind and even water and mud. For $99.95, we are for sure sold on these hand guards.-Thad Josey

Bottom Line: The Uniko guards offer everything you could want from a hand guard such as a simple install, sturdy mounting, simplified mounting point and great protection for your hands and grips.
