RENO, NV | MARCH 22, 2012: Over a dozen vehicles left the Reno Sparks Convention Center for the “Mild to Wild” Fundraiser Trail Ride on Tuesday morning with all proceeds benefitting the BlueRibbon Coalition. The day in the dirt was the kick off to the Reno Expo weekend event presented by Miller Lite that includes the Reno Off-Road & Motorsports Expo, Reno Outdoor Recreation Expo, Spring Home & Garden Show and Reno Pet Show and Pug Parade starting Friday March 23rd through Sunday March 25th.
“BlueRibbon Coalition appreciates every person that came out today to enjoy the land that we all enjoy and help support the fight to protect our daily recreational access,” said BlueRibbon Coalition representative Del Albright who joined the group. “The BlueRibbon Coalition fights for you nationwide, we are the all sports, all trail group. We are protecting your access to all sports you can think of including four wheeling, jet skiing, snowmobiling, rock hounding and just about every other outdoor sport. It isn’t just about the dirt sports, it is about all sports and all trails.” BlueRibbon Coalition will be the beneficiary of the Silent Auction at this weekends Reno Expo. They will also have a booth where you can learn more and become a member.
The Reno weather was perfect for a day on the trails. Blue sky, white clouds and not much wind. Without much precipitation this year, but a recent rain, the trail was perfect! No dust and not much mud, the ultimate combination. A full day led the group to a lookout over Reno, a Petroglyph rock garden, past many wild horses and through one of the hardest rocky canyons known in the area: Bronco Canyon. The group of drivers ranged from very experienced to new, and each drove through the rock garden, some easier than others. With multiple lines to choose from, everyone stayed within their comfort level. At the end of the trail, we all met back up and decided on what way to leave the trail system. With another very scenic route back to town the full day of wheeling had nothing but success in the rear view mirror. These are the reasons why we love our off-road sport so much.
