MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (November 11, 2011 ) - When the "ATV-24/7" TV crew rolled into Lorettas on Thursday night, they were expecting the worst. Hot, humid temperatures in the 100s ... sleeping
in another Motel 6 ... Screws' grits.
But instead they got a weekend they will never forget, one that will certainly end up in their powersports highlight reel someday.
All of their "stars" were there. The injured Iron Man. Big Daddy and Jordan. The rookie spoiler Hetrick. Snapp, Brown and Upperman. And the hundreds of racers and families who break the bank each season for a chance to pull up to the starting line.
The weather was glorious. The track was well-groomed and moist. And both racers and fans alike smiled to each other each time the sweet fumes of race gas wafted out of the pits.
Round 11, the Final race of the season, Hurricane Mills, TN. The battle is set. The points spread is small. And anything can still happen. It's all part of the last episode (of the season) of "ATV-24/7."
The feature story this episode focuses on the ATVMX crew -- the underloved, underrated sometimes cantankerous officials and crew members who make sure every race weekend happens according to Plan A. Or Plan B.
Episode #7 of ATV-24/7 airs this Sunday, November 13 at 5:30 p.m. Eastern on the Versus Network, soon to be NBC Sports. The show will be available online at www.atv247.com shortly after the broadcast.
"ATV-24/7" is sponsored by Can-Am, DWT Racing, American Suzuki and Amsoil. The show is co-produced for Racer TV by Long Haul Productions and Mainstream Media Group, Inc.
