MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (October 13, 2011 ) – When the Can-Am crew rode into Unadilla for Round 9 of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship, Presented by DWT, they were minus their pointsleading pro rider: Chad Weinen. After Round 8, Weinen broke his back during practice and had to drop out of the series. Weinen’s closest competitor and teammate, John Natalie, has now become the points leader, but he’s riding injured after he broke his right arm saving his horses from a burning barn. Nipping at Natalie’s heels is Josh (“Holeshot”) Upperman, Baldwin Racing, who is just one point behind Natalie. Then throw into the mix rookie senation and spoiler, Joel Hetrick, who’s been tearing it up the last few races -- and climbing the podium stairs, -- on-board his dad-tuned Honda.
The battle is set for racing action and behind-the-scenes drama like never before, as “ATV-24/7” counts down the last three races in the ATVMX series.
