FRE/KTM rider Bryan Cook earned 7th overall at the tenth round of the Grand National Cross Country Series at Unadilla Raceway held in New Berlin, NY.
The Unadilla facility and course were in surprisingly good conditions considering the rain and flooding that had hit the New York area prior to the race. Cook was able to get a good jump off the line at the start of the XC1 pro race. As he neared the first turn, Taylor Kiser, who was positioned in front of him, got involved in a first corner wreck which Cook had to swerve to avoid. After getting around the crash, Cook had dropped to near last position.
Cook was able to work his way up to mid-pack on the first lap and then continued to move forward each lap. Out front, four riders battled for the lead while Cook continued to plug away to salvage any positions he could. Chris Borich eventually took the win while Chris Bithell finished in second. Cook finished his impressive climb through the pack in seventh position at the end of the day. He now currently sits sixth in the overall point standings.
