(6/5/11) - Round three of the NEATV series would take the track at Hurricane Hills in Pennsylvania on a beautiful holiday weekend. The day of racing was full of surprises and would end with Twin Air sponsored rider Dustin Wimmer ending the day with a commanding points lead in both the Pro and Pro Am classes.
The first surprise of the day would be the presence of ATV MX Pro Class racer John Natalie. Natalie, a Pennsylvania resident, chose to come out to Hurricane Hills to race against former ATV MX rivals Wimmer and Creamer. The stage was set for a great day of racing. The first Pro Class moto would start with Wimmer, Creamer, and Natalie all up front. Creamer would get the win with Natalie and Twin Air's Wimmer rounding out the top three.
In Moto 1 of the Pro Am class Creamer would be involved in a first turn crash that would end his day of racing. Natalie would take the win. Wimmer rode smart and avoided the danger to bring home second. With Creamer out for the day, Wimmer would begin to pad his points lead.
The second half of the race day for the Pro and Pro Am classes were nearly identical from start to finish. Wimmer would hole shot both motos with Natalie in tow. Wimmer would hold the lead for the first three laps before getting past by the hard charging Natalie. A 3-2 in the Pro class and a 2-2 in the Pro Am class would give Dustin second place overall in both classes for the day. Although not the results he may have wanted, he heads into the next round with a large points margin over second place.
Round 4 will set the stage for more great battles in this year's NEATV series.
