Lynden, WA (February 28, 2011) Holz Racing teammates Chad Wienen and John Natalie topped the field in the first round of the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals in Washington, GA on Saturday, February 26. Wienen placed first in both moto 1 and moto 2 to take first place overall. Natalie was second overall, having placed second in moto1 and moto 2. Chad and John raced on Holz-sponsored Team Motoworks Can-Am ATVs.
Accross the continent, Jeremie Warnia, Josh Frederick and Collins Webster all placed on Holz-equipped Can-Am ATVs at Round 2 of the World Off-Road Racing Championship series in Primm, NV.
Finishing in second place in Pro ATV Class over the weekend, Warnia has made an aggressive start this season. He won the WORCS Round 1 last month in Taft, then flew to France to take first at the legendary Le Touquet Quadro Beach Race.
Starting dead last, WORCS Pro ATV defending Champion Josh Frederick worked his way through traffic and finished third. Josh clocked the second-best qualifying time, bettered only by Jeremie Warnia. "I'm really proud of our riders," said team sponsor, Mark Holz. "Jeremie and Josh are really on the gas so far this year."
Holz Racing took another podium position Saturday when Collins Webster raced his Holz-equipped Can-Am DS 450 to second place in WORCS Pro-Am ATV Class.
In Side by Side Class 1, Holz Racing Team leader Mark Holz was caught in a pile up before the first turn. With the steering disabled on his Holz Racing-built Motoworks Can-Am Commander, he was unable to finish the race. "It's disappointing," Mark said Saturday. "After winning Round 1 in January, we were pumped about taking first here. We'll fix the car and look forward to a win next month." Holz Racing will compete next at the World Off-Road Championship Series at Lake Havasu City March 25-27.
