The weather was awesome on race day - about 50 to 60 degrees and cloudy in the morning. I got all my gear on and went to the start line. This race was different then most desert races I have done. The race started at noon and for the start, they had three racers per row start in intervals of 1 minute. I was the 3rd row to start which made it extremely nice because I didn't have to worry about passing a lot of people in front of me and I didn't have to worry about a lot of dust or a torn up course. I got a good start and I was hanging with the two other fast local boys that started on my row for about five miles, then they just took off and I didn't see them again.
I felt really good throughout the whole race. The half-way pit mark was at 30 miles and my dad helped me pit. I had put on the new IMS quick fill tank on my bike, borrowed David Kamo's quick fill gas can, and my dad filled me up pretty fast and I was off and going for the rest of the race. I probably didn't need to stop and pit because I'm sure my tank would have lasted the whole 60 miles, but it is better to be safe than sorry! The course was only 60 miles and was a point to point race. It was a really fast paced course including open and tight sand washes, four wheeler trails, some rocks, and a little technical rock section at the end. Nothing too hard and challenging, but it was fun to be going pretty much wide open the whole entire race. This was my last race for the year and then I will be starting back up with my first race of the year in January 2011 at the DMC National Hare & Hound on the Blais Racing Services/KTM Team.
Morgan Crawford - 2 wins at Big 6, Prospectors GP
Hungry Valley OHV
It was a great weekend for Blais Racing Services/ KTM/ TLD Rider Morgan Crawford as he was able to take the Open Class and 4-stroke Open Class wins at the Prospectors Grand Prix in Gorman. "My KTM 530 was working great with my ESR suspension and my sticky Kenda tires hooked up awesome on the slippery hard-packed dirt in Gorman. I got off to a great start for both races and never looked back." Congrats Morgan.

"I got off to a great start in 2nd Overall behind a Honda Odyssey Pilot. The row was 10-wide on the start line, all of us starting together. I passed him for the lead about half-way through the first lap when he started struggling through the big whoops. It was really nice to get out of his dust and into clear air. I started taking it easy in some of the really big deep whoops to save my car but noticed some of the other racers were catching up. Another racer began to push me hard and I decided to let him go buy. As I was trying to pull off course, I slid out a little more than I wanted to and was bumped by the racer behind me. I ended up sideways, blocking the trail and had to back up. I finally was able to let him by and started chasing them back down. I followed as close as I could and when we came back into the motocross section on the last lap, I gassed my Polaris Razr and was able to sneak by on the inside of the last turn and I made the pass just before the checkered flag for first place overall! My co-driver had a great time as his first time as my co-pilot, Donny Eisenhauer. I had a great race and really want to thank HRT Motorsports, FMF, Mastercraft Seats, Alpinestars, Fluidyne Powersports, Kenda, & Fox Racing Shox for a great car set-up that has helped me win a lot of races this year. I will be stripping my car down for a winter overhaul to get it ready to go racing again next year."
