Minnesota Resident Rides Polaris ATVs With Stock Car Racing Star Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Last Updated 7/4/2004
Jim Boatwright of Andover, Minn., already spends a lot of time riding trails on Polaris ATVs, however his most recent ride was one he won't soon forget. Chosen from more than 23,000 entries nationally as grand-prize winner of Polaris' "Ride of Your Life Sweepstakes," Boatwright won the opportunity to join stock car racing star Dale Earnhardt, Jr. on a private ATV trail ride at the Brushy Mountain Motor Sports Park in Hickory, N.C. He also received a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dale Earnhardt Incorporated race facility in Mooresville, N.C.
"This ride was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Boatwright. "Spending time on and off the trail with one of my favorite drivers was amazing."
Boatwright's familiarity with Polaris recreational vehicles started long before his winning ride. He currently owns a Polaris Sportsman 400 ATV and two Polaris Indy 500 snowmobiles, and has spent more than 30 years enjoying Polaris products with his family on trails near his Minnesota home.
Boatwright entered the sweepstakes while researching new Polaris ATVs at Delano Sports Center in Delano, Minn. As part of the prize, Boatwright's wife, Mary, joined him on the trip to North Carolina.
"This is the first sweepstakes I've ever won," he said. "Once I saw the prize was a ride with Dale, Jr., I had to enter - now I'm really glad I did."
The Polaris ATV division launched the "Ride of Your Life Sweepstakes" in 2004, allowing consumers across the nation to go to any participating Polaris dealer during the month of April and enter for a chance to win an ATV ride with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and a private tour of Dale Earnhardt Incorporated race facility along with a guest.
