This past weekend saw the sixth round of the Parts Unlimited OMA Nationals get underway from the Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minn. Spring Creek was the recent host of a Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship race and provided the racers with an exciting and challenging course layout.
For the third race in a row, the Moose Racing trio of Kyle Martin, Bryan Hulsey and John Pitts swept the Pro ATV class podium. Martin took the holeshot and led wire-to-wire for his first OMA National win of the season followed by Hulsey and Pitts. The trio also further increased their stranglehold atop the overall standings with Hulsey leading Pitts and Martin, respectively. In the Pro MC class, Scotty Watkins finished the day with a solid second place showing and maintained his overall series points lead with four rounds remaining.
The seventh round of the series, the Mizzou XC, takes place on August 14, 2010 in Newark, Mo.
The WORCS racers were also out doing battle this past weekend up in Olympia, Wash. for the eighth round of the ten round series. Team rider Ricky Russell put together two impressive rides in his home state taking first place honors in both the 450A and Pro2 classes.
The ninth round of the WORCS series will take place on September 17 – 18, 2010 at the legendary Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, Calif.
A familiar face to any off-road podium and reigning GNCC XC2 ATV Champion, Josh Kirkland, suffered a traumatic crash a week ago Friday breaking a vertebra in his neck.
