With five rounds behind us, and four different overall race winners, Round Six of the AMA/KENDA National Hare and Hound Championship Series is sure to be an exciting day of racing. Over 80 miles of intense desert terrain have been laid out, and the possibility of 4 days of rain means that the Vikings MC Club of District 37 will be working overtime to ensure that the course is prepped as best as possible.
Only ten points separate the top three overall of Kendall Norman, Destry Abbott, and David Kamo, while about five other riders are in the middle of a heated battle for top privateer. Returning to the desert that they call home, Kawasaki of Simi Valley's Jacob Argubright and Blais Racing Services backed Morgan Crawford, are ready to take the leap and crack the podium for the first time in 2010.
Quickly making up time after suffering two DNF's early on, Valcom Motorsports Gary Sutherlin is eager to get back on the podium after a fourth place finish in Utah. Not to be outdone, Paul Krause Racing's Justin Imhof will be on hand and ready to attempt history and earn the 250cc National Championship with a perfect 8-win season.
Any way you look at it, there are about ten racers who can make a strong push for a podium this weekend, but factor in the local District 37 fast guys and you have the makings of an incredible desert race!
On the four-wheeler side of things, big changes are in store. Through three of the six ATV rounds, District 38's Steve Carver holds an 8-point margin over a newcomer to the series out of Nevada, Blane Vadasy, but the hard charging 2009 Champ, District 38's Kyle Penner, is not going to give up. Last year's ATV Champion knows what it takes to win, and is ready to do battle with whoever stands in his way.
Shawn Bigney of District 37 has been on fire in the AMA/KENDA National Championship ATV B Class, and this weekend he hopes to make a podium victory while having to start on the same row as the A class racers.
Only in the Hare and Hound Championship Series can the amateur racer follow in the footsteps of a pro rider, and at Round Six, the contingencies are as strong as ever! With over 400 entries expected, the AMA/KENDA National Hare and Hound Series will be the place to be this weekend. With Give-a-ways from the NHHA at the sign-up area and at the podium all weekend long, virtually every racer has the chance to come home as a winner.
Join NHHA announcer George Antill and the NHHA as they present Round Six of the AMA/KENDA National Hare and Hound Championship Series this weekend in Johnson Valley OHV, CA. The banner drops at 9:00 AM this Sunday, but the action starts Saturday morning as vendor row heats up for action at approximately 10:00 AM.
