"We had so many teams approach us and there was quite a lot of competition to get our sponsored entry into the race, but we believed in the Nevada Union High School team project because its not just a buggy that they are throwing money at, they are learning and exploring and taking their project to the next level each step of the way" said Burris. "We were really revved up when we found out that we had been chosen to receive the Royal Purple sponsorship for this event," stated Nevada Union High School Shop Director and Team Leader Joe Silva. Silva and his core group of 20 high school students have been building the King of the Hammers buggy from scratch to race this year.
