Carlisle, IA (6/1/2009) - The second annual GBC Motorsports Heartland Challenge event dates are now finalized with the racing action set for the summer on August 21 -22, 2009.
The first annual GBC Motorsports Heartland Challenge was held this past November 7-8th, and despite snow, wind, and freezing temperatures, nearly a hundred teams braved the elements to compete in the 10 Hour ATV Challenge, 3 Hour Youth ATV Challenge, and finally the 4 Hour UTV challenge.
For 2009, we have decided to move up the date to a much warmer August 21-22nd, which will coincide with the last weekend of the famous Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, IA which attracts over one million visitors annually. Also, the new end of summer race date will provide much warmer and pleasant temperatures for racers and spectators to enjoy an action packed weekend of racing.
The race will once again be held in Carlisle, IA, which is a suburb of Des Moines. The town embraced the Heartland Challenge in 2008, and we are excited to be heading back again to this great town. The race location is conveniently located near plenty of hotels, restaurants, and the Des Moines International Airport, all of which are located within 12 miles of the track.
All three team endurance races will return for 2009, with the 3 Hour Youth ATV Challenge, 3 Hour UTV Challenge, and the 10 Hour ATV Challenge.
And adding to the excitement, GBC Tires will be debuting some of their brand new tires. While you are there, be sure to check out the new Afterburn Steetforce AYV DOT tire and the new RaceRex as well as the new GB2XC at the event.
The event schedule, classes, and rules will be released shortly, and be sure to check out the GBC Motorsports Heartland Challenge website for more information www.heartlandchallenge.com
