Yamaha OHV Access Initiative Awards $190,000 In Grant Funds
Yamaha Motor Corporation has announced its first GRANT (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation's Trails) awards, totaling more than $190,000, for the first quarter of 2008. The OHV Access Initiative is designed to support and save responsible riding and sustainable, open riding areas. Nineteen organizations from across the country received the grants to fund projects, which include OHV trail park development, trail mapping, and safety and land stewardship programs in an effort to increase OHV access on public land.
The OHV Access Initiative, which was launched earlier this year, is a grassroots program, enabling Yamaha dealers and customers to fund deserving projects in support of responsible open access. If you're interested in applying for a grant to help support the movement, visit www.yamaha-motor.com/ohvaccess for further information.
KTM Still On Top Of GNCC
As Round 5 of the Can-Am GNCC series has just finished, one thing is very clear: KTM is a force to be reckoned with, as Adam McGill has a solid lead in first place with four top-five finishes. Three of those finishes had McGill on top of the podium up until this last round where he was troubled with electrical gremlins which left him in the 18th position. KTM teammate Taylor Kiser is showing promise as well; Kiser currently holds seventh overall in points. In only its first year of production, the KTM 450 XC Sport is definitely turning heads by being so competitive against other tried-and-true sport ATVs.
