Jagged X's Ranger RZR Dominates In The Desert -
The Jagged X Polaris Ranger RZR finished the Best In The Desert season by dominating the Henderson's Terrible 400 and claiming first place in the 2007 championship chase.
"Winning the grueling BITD series in the first year of production is a great accomplishment for both Jagged X and the Ranger RZR," said Craig Scanlon, product line sales manager for the Polaris Side-By-Side Division. "Polaris looks forward to supporting Jagged X's defense of the BITD championship title next year."
The Ranger RZR beat second place in its class by almost 11 minutes and added to its impressive record of three first, one second and six finishes in six races. The RZR also finished 80 points ahead of second place for the championship.
Yamaha Holds First Rhino Customer Appreciation Event -
Yamaha Motor Corporation held its first-ever Rhino customer appreciation rally in Glamis, California, December 15 and 16, drawing crowds of Rhino owners along with plenty of ATV and side-by-side enthusiasts. Over the course of the weekend, the event raised more than $3200 for the American Sand Association and also raised funds for Feed The Children, a charity which Yamaha has worked with for more than 10 years, through a raffle where one lucky winner walked away with a custom set of Rhino plastics.
Contests for the weekend consisted of a Rhino/Poker Run through the dunes, a Show-and-Shine event as well as demo rides on the new 2008 Raptor 250 and in the new Rhino 700. The rally was capped off with a clean-up to encourage attendees to pick up trash in and around the dunes. Prizes were awarded to those who gathered significant amounts of litter.
"The Rhino rally was really about showing Rhino customers that we appreciate their business and their lifestyle-through the event itself as well as the money raised for the ASA during the event," Yamaha ATV/SxS Marketing Manager Steve Nessl said. "It was a way for Yamaha to give back to the Rhino faithful, and we've received great feedback from people who enjoyed the event. We are looking forward to the possibility of a second Rhino rally sometime next year."
2007 GNCC Series Largest Ever -
Did you participate in any of the GNCC races last year? If you did, then you helped make it one of the largest series in the record books. In 2007 the series had a total of 18,630 entries which was a 13.78 percent increase over the 2006 total of 16,373. "These are amazing numbers," GNCC Trail Boss Jeff Russell said. "Even with concerns over gas prices and the economy, the series still drew more racers than ever, and that's why we say this is America's largest off-road race series. If it keeps growing like this, we're going to need a lot more room."We may put the pits for these races in a Wal-Mart parking lot," Russell joked.
