Best In The Desert - Terrible's "250" at Primm

Las Vegas, NV March, 2008 Exciting news for 2008, the fun and challenging Terrible's "250" race is being moved to Primm, Nevada, and has a new name: Terrible's "250" at Primm. Primm is owned and operated by the Herbst family and it will be the same great race that we held in Pahrump, NV. In its new location this race has already generated a lot of interest and increased entries. Best in the Desert suggests contacting Buffalo Bill's Hotel Casino now for reservations.

The action packed 2008 Terrible's "250" at Primm will be held April 17, 18, 19, 2008, in Primm, Nevada, promoted by Best In The Desert Racing Association and hosted by the Herbst Family and Primm Valley Casino Resort Properties. A $10,000 guaranteed total purse makes this "The Richest Off-Road Race in Nevada." For the 2008 race $10,000 will be awarded to the 1st Overall Car/Truck winner. This is a great opportunity to race a great course and to take home a lot of prize money, which includes the Ford Performance Award money and the Best In The Desert class payback money.

The 2008 Terrible's "250" at Primm will be an 84-mile loop race which will start and finish in Primm, Nevada, located 40 miles south of Las Vegas on I-15. Best In The Desert Director Casey Folks said, "This event will feature the best Car, Truck and UTV off-road racers racing today. With this being the eleventh year of the Terrible's sponsored races, I expect a record number of Car and Truck entries racing for the shot at the additional $10,000. This is a big, big event, which is growing in popularity every year. In fact, I expect the 2008 "Silver State Series" racing year to be bigger than ever!" Jerry, Ed, Tim, and Troy Herbst, who all love the sport of off-road racing, make a special contribution to this event by putting up the $10,000, presenting the overall winners with special championship jackets and hosting this great event.

The Pre-Fun Run is scheduled for early Thursday morning, and the Time Trails, the qualifying race for start positions, for classes 1400 and 1500 only, will run Thursday afternoon. These same two classes will start the main event Saturday as they qualify. Always keeping safety at the forefront, there will be two races, the first group starting early Saturday morning at sunrise.

New this year is a special TrophyKart race, to be held on Friday. These exciting new entries are half-size race trucks which are powered by a 265cc engine. They feature 15 inches of front wheel travel and 18 inches of rear wheel travel. We will be running two classes, limited and unlimited. The limited karts reach a top speed over 50 MPH. Unlimiteds have a variety of upgrades, and can run over 75 MPH. These new vehicles are teaching tomorrow's race car drivers, age 8 to 12, and 13 to 16, about the challenges of off-road racing and we are pleased to support this new entry into our exciting sport. They will run on an approximate one and a half mile course, all on Primm property. The race is promoted by TrophyKart.com and will run under the MMR rules. For more information, or to request an entry form specific for the TrophyKart race, contact Tony Rutledge at tony@planetkart.net or call 714-399-3700.

Registration, Technical Inspection and Contingency will be held Friday, April 18, 2008, from 9:30am to 6pm in the Buffalo Bill's parking lot. On Saturday morning, the 2008 Terrible's "250" at Primm starts just behind Buffalo Bill's Hotel Casino.
