We recently took one of multi-time Baja champion Greg Row's fabulous tours of Baja California for an upcoming issue and had a bright idea - why not share such an epic experience with our readers? And we don't mean just on the pages of this magazine.
So join us for a three-day tour, including a stopover at the legendary Mike's Sky Rancho and some incredible scenery that may exceed your expectations - with pine forests and technical rocky riding to accompany the miles of sand whoops, dry lake beds and cactus gardens you see on television. Row has promised a special ride for our readers, tracing some of the trails to be used as the racecourse for the Baja 1000 just two weeks after this adventure.
Warning: This trip can be made by riders of all levels, but the tour will cover 150+ miles per day. While much of it will be droning along flat or paved roads, there are times when you'll need to have all your wits about you for the sudden appearance of a G-out or stray donkey on the trail!
What: A three-day tour of Baja California with the editors of ATV Rider, Greg Row and a TV crew.
When: November 1-3 (Dates subject to change.)
Where: Meeting in San Diego, California, early Saturday for a quick trip across the border to Santa Veronica, where we'll stay.
Why: For the time of your life (we wouldn't be doing it again if it wasn't).
How: Check our website for links to more information, or contact ATV Baja Tours directly at 619/464-BAJA or www.atvbajatours.com.
How Much: The cost for the entire trip should be in the neighborhood of $800 if you take your own ATV and about twice that with a rental 400EX or DS650.
