MONTREAL, Canada. (September 27, 2007) -The finest racers in the AMA Pro ATV MX series aren't done racing yet, as a big crop of talent heads north of the boarder this weekend to battle at the Montreal Supercross presented by Parts Canada, Thor and Coors Light. Along with the MX1 and MX2 divisions for bikes, the VTT/ATV class enters 34 top riders on all-terrain vehicles. In addition, the event features autocross dune buggys in the mix, plus, the BRP Racing Team brings the brand-spanking new Can-Am DS-450 to the gate for even more bumper-to-bumper racing.
Top-ranking AMA Pro ATV riders include Team Yamaha's Groupe Vertdure RP Evolution's Richard Pelchat from St. Romuald Quebec. The Canadian is running the #1 plate for the event.

"I have the number 1 plate in Canada," Pelchat said. "Because I won the Canadian championship in 2006, from 2002 to 2006 actually, so at every Canadian race I put the number 1 on my ATV."
Richard is excited for this event after checking out the track at montrealsupercross.com . "We are leaving today [Thursday] for the race," he said. "It is only a 2 hour drive this time! I only saw the drawing [of the track] posted on the website. It should be a very nice track. Normally we share the Autocross track and the Supercross, so it is both technical and fast. Good for the show!
With the opportunity to win the $2,000 purse, Richard has high expectations. "Luck wasn't with me any previous years," Pelchat said. "It is kind of my ''black list race." I'm always fast, but starts have always been a nightmare. The good side is that this year I am ready for anything; I believe I can make up for anything. We will have a lot of fun."

Richard finished seventh at the first-ever AMA Pro ATV Open at Steel City, ahead of Team Yamaha's Hunter and Cody Miller, who will also compete in Canada. Other American riders include Shasta Lake, California's Sage Baker, who had a season best fifth overall at Loretta Lynn's this year. Baker will be riding for Team Epic Racing Can-Am rider.
Joe Haavisto from New Ipswich, New Hampshire had a season best finish of sixth in Alabama this year riding for Lost Creek Suzuki and Team Joe Racing.
2007 Pro-Am rides of Greg Gee and Casey Martin are also listed. Greg of Simcoe, of Ontario, finished third overall in Pro-Am this year, and second overall in 16-24, and will be riding for Team Epic Can-Am Racing, along with Casey Martin of Frenchburg, Kentucky riding for the Media Allstars.
