Haydays marked the final rounds of the 2013 Mystik Lubricants Terracross Championship. Taking place outside of North Branch, MN, Haydays is an annual weekend long event that marks the end of summer; featuring snowmobile grass drags, vendor displays, test drives, a massive swap meet and much more. Hosted by the Sno Barons snowmobile club, the event is a perfect venue for the Terracross series to conclude its season. Just like rounds one and two at ERX Motor Park, the Haydays course pushed the racers to find the best lines in order to survive. Racers were gunning it for the finish line with the closing rounds at hand, making the best of their final chance at the championship.
Rory Beckman had an excellent round one and two at ERX and would follow through with a win in round three, clinching his first Mystik Lubricants Terracross Championship. Zac Zakowski had a great weekend in both the ATV and UTV classes but would come up six points shy of Rory for second place overall in the Pro Quad class.
Cody Gorsegner responded at rounds three and four finishing first and second respectively. These finishes coupled with his success at ERX would earn him both the Pro Am and Pro Am Lite championships. Ryan Springer placed second in the Pro Am class while Jeff Loyd place second in the Pro Am Lite class.
Rain drizzled on and off during the Haydays event which put a damper on the Caleb Moore Speeding with Style competition. Wet run-ins and ramps caused the freestyle portion of the competition to be called off for safety, however, as a result the racing was amped up from 2 to 6 laps. JR Hinds, who did not attend ERX, brought commanding speed to the race course; no doubt somewhat attributed to his experience in the Pro-Am class of the AMA Motocross Nationals. JR won both rounds taking the overall for the weekend. Marco Picado held a steady pace and managed to earn second overall.
Cindi Hart would sneak ahead of Sarah Gildea by 4 points for the Womens Side by Side Championship overall. Cindi and Sarah were top finishers at both ERX and Haydays, trading wins with each other at both events.
Despite not being able to complete the fourth round due a rollover, RJ Anderson claimed the Pro Terracross Side by Side Championship. Every time RJ was on the course he showed speed and precision that made maneuvering the RZR XP 1000 around the rough track look easy. Andrew Carlson brought home second place overall for the season with consistent finishes each round.
