From the January/February 2011 issue of ATV Rider Magazine
At the final round of the WORCS ATV series in Mesquite, Nevada, I caught up with Josh Row, one of the top-performing racers on the Mike Cafro Racing Team. Straight from securing the number-three plate for the season, Josh responded immediately to our odd, random and even normal questions. Knowing him for the past few years, I expected he'd have some quick-witted answers. Here they are.
1 Are you a full-time racer or do you have a day job?
Racing is definitely my full-time job. If you want to be at the top, you need to be that dedicated.
2 In only your third year of racing WORCS and second year as a pro, you've become one of the faster racers on the circuit. What's your secret?
Well, I get to train and ride with Beau [Baron], and that helps so much. He is one of the fastest riders out there, so training with him really helped to step my game up.
3 What is the most recent post on your Facebook status?
My most recent Facebook post said, "If you ever want to feel good about yourself, don't go ride motorcycles with Dustin Nelson." LOL. 4 What is heavier: a ton of Maxxis tires of a ton of feathers?
A ton of Maxxis tires!
5 Who's the biggest jokester on the MCR team: Mike Cafro, Beau Baron, Levi Marana or you?
It's a toss-up between Mike and Beau!
6 Which character from the "Family Guy" closest resembles your personality?
Stewie-ha!
7 As we're working on this issue, Brett Favre is in the news for a bit of a scandal. You don't have any skeletons like that in your closet, do you?
Nope.
8 Who has been your biggest inspiration for your racing and why?
Ever since I started racing I've always been inspired by Josh Frederick. He used to race with my dad out in the desert, so watching him ride there and now in the WORCS series has really inspired me.
9 For the past two seasons in the WORCS ATV series, you've occasionally had to battle with some of the fastest GNCC racers. Would you ever consider going back East and try it on their turf?
I would love to try one!
10 What is the one thing you can't live without but probably should?
RC cars are so much fun but a complete money pit. LOL.
11 If you had a spare grand burning a hole in your pocket, what would you spend it on at this exact second?
Well, all my equipment from the last race is all hammered, so I could put that grand to easy use on all of that!
12 They say by taking the name of your first pet and the name of the street you live on, you get your porn star name. What would yours be?
Bear Legacy-ha ha ha ha!
13 If you were stranded on a desert island, what one person or item would you want to have with you?
I would have to take my dad; he's Mr. Survivor-man. LOL.
14 Where is your favorite getaway destination?
Gordon's Well Sand Dunes!
15 Our readers want to know: What do you do in the middle of a race if you suddenly feel the urge to pee?
I usually try to settle that before I get on the bike, but if it does come up-I'm not going to lie-I have tried and it doesn't work for me I have to stop and get off!
16 Which female racer do you think could give you a run for your money in a WORCS race?
Julie Russell is not a legitimate answer just because she's the boss's fiancée, either. Julie is one of the fastest females out there!
17 If you could pick up any new sponsor in the world, who would it be?
I'm very happy with all of my current sponsors; I wouldn't be where I'm at today without them!
18 Do you have any prerace rituals?
My prerace rituals are I always put my right glove on, right sock on, right boot on, etc.
19 Who's in your regular crew when you go to the races?
My mom, dad, girlfriend, Preston, Ryan, Jesse are the normal crew for all my races!
20 Have you ever been mud boggin' on an ATV or had the desire to?
I'd love to go mud bogging but never had the right quad for the job!
