The look on his face pretty much sums it up for everyone in attendance. We all had a good time.
As the sun began to set on the horizon, all groups started the trek back to our original departure point. Everyone regrouped at the Pinnacles staging area and we hauled the mail on our way back to the trucks. What had been a few hours of stop-and-go riding on our way to Pinnacles turned into a speeding freight train on the faster trails to beat the setting sun. We made a quick stop or two for a few last pictures, as the light was perfect, but nothing more after that. As I pulled into our staging area, all I could see were bright white teeth from the smiles of everyone hopping out of their machines. It seemed as if all had a blast, and that included me. You can't really ask for more than a perfect day out on awesome trails with a great group of people.
Before a majority of my new riding buddies decided to leave, I gathered everyone together one last time to thank them for making this outing such a success. I also had a set of tires that needed to be raffled off. In addition to these tires, I had six sets of graphic kits, which One Industries donated to make a better pile of prizes. With the raffle completed, smiles were bigger as people made their way back to their vehicles. The staging area emptied as everyone headed home and I was ready to do the same. I had a blast, but I was ready for a shower and some sleep.
As I returned home, e-mail alerts from people responding to the forum began flying. I opened up the webpage and saw people describing how much of a good time they had and that they couldn't wait to do it again. Honestly, I could not have been happier to see such great feedback from everyone who'd attended.
Will It Happen Again?
An outing like this will most definitely happen again if I have any say in it. One of my columns in the magazine is Connected, and I'm always urging readers to go out and meet new people and make new friends. I took my own advice and had a blast doing it. The people from Rhinoforums.net are a class act, and I can't wait to plan more rides like this in the future. If you're a Rhino owner, sign up on this site so you can be more informed on everything that involves the Yamaha Rhino. You can also keep an eye on www.atvrideronline.com to see when the next organized ride is coming up. If you have a suggestion on locations, hit us up and let us know.
Thanks again to all of the great people who made this event possible.
