The Coombs family creates the AMA National Hare Scrambles Series, holding the first event at High Point Raceway. The series morphs over the years into the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Racing Series.1982
MX Sports, Inc., is founded for the purpose of producing the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
1983 Steel City Raceway holds its first motocross race. The GNCC series adds ATC (three-wheel) racing, followed shortly by four-wheeled ATVs. 1984
The Coombs family produces their first arenacross event in Columbus, Ohio. They also organize the arenacross portion of the Monster Jam events for SRO Pace nationwide from 1984-'89.1987

The Coombs family reorganizes as MX Sports, LLC. The GNCC racing series is televised on the Fox Sports Network.2003
Road Racer X, the roadracing version of Racer X Illustrated, is launched.2007
The "Racer X Motocross Show" premieres on www.motocross.com. The GNCC series, produced by Racer TV, is televised in at least 57 countries worldwide. Racer Productions is recognized as the 2007 ATVA Promoter of the Year, as well as the 2007 AMA Off-Road Promoter of the Year. Steel City Raceway hosts the inaugural AMA Pro ATV Open in conjunction with the AMA Motocross Championship, marking the first time in history that pro motorcycle athletes and pro ATV athletes share a national track on a national weekend.2008
MX Sports acquires the promotional, marketing and commercial rights and properties to the AMA Toyota Motocross Championships. With this purchase, MX Sports is able to own the two top series in the United States. Dirt Bike Magazine names Dave Coombs Sr. as off-road racing's greatest promoter. Rita Coombs is named the second greatest promoter. Rita Coombs is named the second greatest promoter. The famed Blackwater 100 is honored as off-road's greatest race.
