"Living just two hours away from Glamis and working for the magazine, I'm at the sand dunes pretty much year-round...whether I like it or not. During the summer, we are out trudging around in the triple-digit heat shooting all the photos for our winter issues. We usually don't get much 'fun' riding done, because we just want to get the shots and get out of the face-melting heat as fast as possible.
"So for me, sand season is all about being able to hit up my favorite riding area without it being so hot that I'm tempted to fry an egg on my seat cover. And since we usually don't shoot many dune photos during the winter (because we don't run many sand articles during the summer months), I get to leave the camera at home and just concentrate on having fun."

Hopefully you can see why dune season is so desirable to many. And for those who've never experienced it firsthand, be sure to get out and give it a try. You won't regret it. To help get you in the mood, we've delivered on some killer sand stories in the issue you're holding. We've got Duncan Racing's true sand-prepped Banshee that Ray Gauger blasted through the Glamis dunes along with a special RZR custom-built by No Limitz Motorsports that's perfect for spending a weekend on with your friends and family. And to help kickstart dune season the right way, we're delivering the full story on the 2008 DuneFest adventure that we just got back from. You don't want to miss it. Enjoy!
