New to the WORCS scene, Logan Holladay decided to test his skills and abilities in the Pro-Am class at the Taft race. Holladay has been ripping it up in an array of local series and proved to be a big contender in the WORCS. At his debut, he earned a phenomenal second overall, beating all Pro and Pro-Am riders except for race-winner Eichner. The kicker is he is only 16 years old. That he's already rocketed to the top of his class means we'll be keeping our scopes on this kid. If anything, he promises to bring a fresh face and new excitement to ATV racing over the next few years.

GNCC NewsBallance Regains the Lead The 2005 Grand National Cross Country season is witnessing edge-of-your-seat race action that shows no signs of slowing down. A variety of new riders visit the podium every week and GNCC television is back on the air again, but it is the blistering battle between the "Killer Bs" that has everyone thrilled. For the past five years, Yamaha's Bill Ballance has virtually dominated the series, but this year Alba Action's Chris Borich is giving him a run for his money. With Borich's sheer determination to win and Ballance's phenomenal riding and experience, they have entertained us with nothing less than the battle of the century.
Borich kicked off the season with a strong win in Texas and held on to this prestigious lead until the Wiseco John Penton race in Ohio. Ballance took home the gold at the Penton, but more important, he snatched the point lead for the very first time this season. The year has been tough for Ballance and he has vowed on several occasions to step up his game: "It's time to get this train back on the tracks." He is beginning to back up his promises with race wins and the point lead.
As if that weren't adrenaline boosting enough, Polaris Industries' Matt Smiley and Suzuki's William Yokley have also been striving hard for podium positions with great success. They are setting themselves up for a late-season battle for third and fourth in the point race. Smiley turned heads with three podium finishes on an unproven Polaris Predator, a quad many doubted could handle the extreme beating a pro rider would inflict on it. He has been steadily unraveling those misconceptions with his strong finishes. Furthermore, Yokley has been on the podium four times this season with an impressive win at the Loretta Lynn's round in Tennessee. The battle between third and fourth place will be a furious one over the next several rounds, something you won't want to miss.
